Mission

Hacettepe University Stress Assessment and Research Center (STAR) was founded to pursue the following aims:

1. Studying types of mental stress and mental trauma, their prevalence, appearance in the clinic and society; determination of related factors, types of mental diseases caused by mental stress and trauma, their prevalence, investigation of their different manifestations, clinical signs, symptom distribution, investigation of the disease burden and loss of function due to these diseases. 

2. Increasing the knowledge and skills of students, faculty members and research assistants on stress-related disorders; encouraging, supporting and training research assistants and other researchers conducting research on these subjects.

3. Encouraging students, research assistants and other academic staff to publish internationally about stress, and providing training and support on this subject.

4. Disseminating the scientific information obtained through research to the national and international psychiatry, psychology and medical communities and the public, and thus contributing to public education indirectly and directly.

5. Providing training for university employees on the effects of stress and coping methods as part of their in-house training, and determining the stress levels and stress-related mental problem levels of the staff.
